MyShop Cloud

The system you know. In any browser.

The same MyShop that has stood behind Italian shop counters for thirty years — till, stock, documents, loyalty, e-commerce — running on our servers and opened from a browser: in the shop, at home, on the tablet by the counter. Nothing to install, nothing to update, nothing to back up at night. And the till prints real fiscal receipts on the shop's telematic cash register.

Why a cloud

The same MyShop, with nothing to install.

MyShop Cloud is not a new program imitating the old one: it is the same engine. The classes that compute stock, write documents and synchronise the e-commerce are the desktop's own, moved as they are into a shared library and tested one against the other — the same 690 stock figures computed by both programs, identical to the cent.

The database is the same too: 232 tables, same columns, same names. That is why a MyShop shop moves to the cloud with its own backup and finds everything there — and why anyone coming from the desktop recognises every page: the till is their till, the product card is their card, the dashboard is their dashboard.

The design

Designed like a desktop. On purpose.

Most "web" retail systems look like websites. MyShop Cloud is a tiled dashboard like MyShop 8, and every page mirrors the window it comes from: the till keeps its parked accounts, its categories, its keypad with the grammar of thirty years (0,1 is a price, 3x a quantity); the product card keeps its tiles; prints open in the same tab. The analogue clock top right is MyShop 8's. The icons are the same, drawn in-house. Nobody has to learn anything.

On the phone too. The same pages, with no "app": the phone's browser is enough to check how the day is going, the statistics or the categories while you're out. Three of these four were taken by Nanni on his own phone, on 20 August.

The knot every cloud avoids

The till talks to the fiscal printer.

A cloud system has a problem installed ones don't: the program runs on a distant server, but the telematic cash register (Italy's fiscal printer) sits in the shop, on the local network. Who makes them talk? The browser — the only one standing in both rooms. The server prepares the receipt, the browser hands it to the Epson on the shop's LAN, and the answer — number, closure, outcome — goes back to the server, which writes it on the document. No helper program, no driver: a web page and a networked printer.

It happened on 20 August 2026 at 11:16. From the browser, on cloud.myshopweb.it, a ten-cent sale: the shop's Epson FP printed DOCUMENTO N. 0015-0001 and the cloud replied "receipt 0015-0001 printed on the register and cashed". At 11:35, the first void, again from the browser: 0015-0002. Not a simulation: real, transmitted fiscal documents.

What it does today

  • The light: on opening, the till queries the printer; if it answers the key stays on "Receipt" and the customer display greets, otherwise it switches to "Account" by itself
  • Receipts with VAT departments, line discounts, multiple payments, tax code, lottery code
  • The real number on the archived document, closure-progressive, like the desktop
  • Void of a printed document, with the serial number read from the printer
  • Drawer, customer display, X reading, department reading, Z closure with double confirmation
  • Epson FP-81 II / FP-90 III RT on the LAN; Chrome and Edge. Safari and serial tills come next, through a small relay

The house speciality, here too

Synchronised e-commerce, from the cloud.

MyShop's synchronisation engine — the one that has kept shop and website aligned for years — runs inside the cloud, every thirty seconds, for every shop that switches it on. Change a price, add a product, fix a photo: the change queues up and the engine carries it to the site; the web order comes down as a document, the shipment goes back up. The Synchronisation page shows it all: the queue, the last run, the initial full-catalogue load, the "re-queue" buttons. The demo storefront is live at shopcloud.myshopweb.it, served by the cloud itself.

What's inside

The whole shop, tile by tile

Thirty-eight tiles on the dashboard. Not "the light edition": the desktop carried over page by page, and in a few places a step ahead — improvements born in the cloud go back to the desktop.

Documents and e-invoicing

Every document type and reason of the desktop; Italian e-invoicing rebuilt on schema 1.2.3 with validation that tells you where to fix; received invoices, signed .p7m envelopes included.

Stock

Stock computed by the desktop's own class, movements per item, balancing between warehouses with transfer documents ready, reorder.

Bills of materials and items

Multi-level kits with requirements, feasibility and one-click production; serials, lots and sizes with the extended barcode the till recognises by itself.

Statistics and "How it's going"

Sell-in and sell-out, sales diary, best and worst, item statistics comparing periods or shops on one chart; the owner's dashboard with comparisons and a traffic light per shop.

Calendar

The month as a grid with a heat map of sales, offers, expiring loyalty, receivables and payables — layers that switch on together.

Customers, loyalty, vouchers

Customer records with cash book, due dates, open jobs; points, rewards, gift cards and vouchers read at the till by barcode.

Labels

Barcodes generated server-side as vector graphics: no fonts to install. Formats stored in the database, single sheets and lists.

Excel import

Products, customers, suppliers and documents from .xlsx: mapping proposed from the headers, dry run before writing.

Setup, users and roles

Company, shops and warehouses, document types, base tables, settings, activity log, archive checks. The desktop's roles and permissions.

Under the bonnet

How it is built

ASP.NET Core 8 · Blazor ServerPages run on the server and the browser shows the result over an always-open channel: the same "state + events" model as Windows programs, which is why porting from the desktop came naturally.
One database per shopSQL Server, same schema as the desktop. Each shop has its own database and sees only that; you enter the cloud from a desktop backup or from a clean archive.
The Control RoomA control database outside the shops' own: who may enter, with which licence, until when, on how many seats. Seats are counted as live circuits; the kill switch is immediate.
One code, two runtimesThe desktop's VB.NET classes live in MyShop.Core and compile for both worlds (net472 and net8.0): one fix serves both, and the "twin" test proves it on the numbers.
Two-level accessFirst the shop — code and shop password — then the user's card with their password, roles and permissions. PBKDF2 password hashing, secrets kept out of the package, ASP.NET data protection.
HTTPS, HSTS, headersAutomatically managed certificate, HSTS on, security headers checked from outside; the browser talks to the fiscal printer on the local network with the operator's explicit permission (Local Network Access).
OperationsWindows Server with IIS and SQL Server; nightly backups verified and restore-tested, a demo reset at 04:00, logs and a /salute health endpoint.
UpdatesOne release from our bench and every shop is updated together, behind ten seconds of courtesy page; the previous release is kept for rollback.

Logbook · August 2026

Twenty days, from the first brick to the first receipt

Like MyShop 8, the cloud was built as a pair: a software craftsman with thirty years of shops in his hands, and an AI (Claude, by Anthropic) as workshop companion. A few entries from the logbook.

1 August

The twin test

Before a single page: the desktop's stock class compiled for the new runtime and run on the same archive from both worlds — 690 stock figures, two identical comparison files. The same day, the first Products page and the first run on the server.

4 August

The Control Room

Multi-shop decided in an afternoon: a control database, one database per customer, seats counted on live circuits. The licence is a row, not a key to hand over.

17 · 18 August

Bills of materials, items, calendar — and the engine switched on

The last windows carried over, some a step ahead of the desktop; and the e-commerce synchronisation engine starting to run inside the cloud, every thirty seconds.

19 August

Published from home in an afternoon; the shop password at step one; in the evening, the decision on resellers.

20 August, 9 am

"Shall we connect the cash register to the cloud till?"

At 9:58 the Epson's customer display lit up by itself with "MYSHOP CLOUD" and the date: the cloud had touched a piece of shop hardware for the first time. At 11:16 the first real receipt, 0015-0001; at 11:35 the first void.
